Mikumi National Park

Mikumi National Park is part of a larger ecosystem connected to Nyerere National Park (formerly the Selous Game Reserve), and its open Mkata floodplain is often compared to the Serengeti for its wide grass plains and visible wildlife. At around 3,230 square kilometers, it's one of the most accessible parks from Dar es Salaam, making it a practical choice for travelers based on the coast who still want a genuine game-viewing experience without a long transfer.
